Wildlife Generation Pro cycling p/b Maxxis, a Specialized-sponsored team, and new continental professional cycling team headed by Director Danny Van Haute, has announced there will be a live stream broadcast of the Redlands Classic bicycle race on Saturday, March 16th (2-6pm) and Sunday (10-6pm), March 17 from Redlands, California. The broadcast will be streamed free via cyclestream.tv

“During this 35th anniversary of the wildly popular Redlands Classic Bicycle Race we are proud to offer a unique opportunity in connecting generations of participants. Over the course of these two days there will be race recaps and live streaming to an audience of millions,” said Ed Clancy, operations manager for team Wildlife Generation. “Our unique Winner’s Circle p/b Specialized broadcast within the streaming will include interviews, brand presentations, and insights to the days race, plus results.

“We are beyond excited to partner with the Wildlife Generation Foundation pro cycling team, their mission and vision is beyond just being another cycling team. Their goals align perfectly with our mission, in influencing generations and a future for a healthy planet,” said Scott Jackson of Specialized Racing, the development team’s sponsor. “Knowing there are organizations like Wildlife Generation to stimulate hope for the future, we are really proud to be a part of this project.”

The Redlands Bicycle Classic is the longest continuous running invitational professional stage race in American bike racing. Each year, the city of Redlands and surrounding communities open their homes, their hearts, and their streets to world-class athletes. From humble beginnings on a Memorial Day weekend in 1985, the event, featuring 350 elite racers, has hosted future stars of the Olympics, Tour de France, and World Championships. The Redlands Bicycle Classic’s long heritage of attracting future stars has earned its position in history: “Where Legends Are Born!”

Van Haute, the former director of the Jelly Belly team for 19 years, matched up with sponsor Leah Sturgis of Wildlife Generation to establish the new Wildlife Generation Pro Cycling Team p/b Maxxis team earlier this year. The Specialized-supported development team, headquartered in San Marcos, California, is focused on developing American riders at age 25 or younger.

Van Haute has an impressive resume at developing talented riders, having produced numerous domestic standouts over the course of his leadership, including Tyler Farrar, Gavin Mannion, Lachlan Morton and Kiel Reijnen.

Wildlife Generation is a newly-formed organization by Leah Sturgis, a conservationist, and video production professional, that will focus on a number of environmental causes both nationally and internationally. She anticipates that the new team will have a dramatic effect on raising awareness and delivering a positive message among generations about wildlife and a healthy planet.

Free streaming can be seen on cyclestream.tv as well as on wildlifegenerationprocycling.com March 16th (2-6pm) and Sunday (10-6pm), March 17
